By default, Yahoo! Stores redirect page not found errors (404) to the home page of your store. While this does allow customers to enter your store from the home page to try and find the item they were searching for it can be very confusing. In addition, search engines will continue to index the pages that cannot be found.
A proper custom 404 error page will provide information and a means to resume looking for an item or page they were looking for so that shoppers avoid leaving your site.
Nothing is worse than the old “Sorry this page can’t be found” page when a customer hits your site for the first time so let us help you by giving them a page to land on that makes sense.
