  • What is SEM or Search Engine Marketing?

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is a form of Internet marketing that involves the promotion of websites by increasing their visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs) through optimization and advertising. This can involve creating content and optimizing for social channels, video channels, blogs, forums, image sites, etc.

  • What Is Internet Marketing or "Inbound Marketing"

Inbound Marketing ties together the creative and technical aspects of the Internet, including design, development, advertising and sales. Internet marketing also refers to the placement of media along many different stages of the customer engagement cycle through search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), banner ads on specific websites, email marketing, mobile advertising, and Web 2.0 strategies.

  • Do you have experience with e-commerce SEO and do you understand the specific optimization needs of online stores?

Yes, we have been working with e-commerce stores since 1999. We understand the specific optimization needs of online stores. Everything from standard SEO to product and conversion optimization. We can even set up your product feeds for channels like Google Shopping.

  • Why does your company specialize in SEO for eCommerce sites instead of offering general SEO services?

  • Is the Audit you're offering really free?

Yes. Along with a phone call to discuss. There is no obligation and you can use the results and information as you wish. However, if we do end up working together, the audit will enable us to establish a starting point through an examination of site performance prior to search engine optimization (SEO). We can detect weak points in areas that affect web performance and customer experience in order to make improvements. We can also target goals and measure the results of our efforts.

  • My online store and domain name are brand new. Will eCommerce SEO work for me?

We can't sugarcoat this one. An e-commerce SEO effort can be more challenging for a brand-new website and domain for several reasons:

    1. Lack of Domain Authority:

New domains start with no domain authority, which is a metric search engines use to determine the trustworthiness and quality of a website. Building this authority takes time and consistent effort through quality content and backlinks.

    2. No Backlink Profile:

A new website lacks a backlink profile, which is crucial for SEO. Backlinks from reputable sites signal to search engines that your content is valuable and trustworthy, contributing to higher rankings.

    3. Competition:

New e-commerce sites often compete with established websites that have years of content, backlinks, and user engagement, putting them at a disadvantage.

    4. Content Volume:

E-commerce sites typically require a significant amount of content, including product descriptions, category pages, and informational content. Creating high-quality, SEO-optimized content for a new site can be resource-intensive.

    5. User Experience and Technical SEO:

New websites might face technical SEO challenges, such as site structure, mobile optimization, and page load speed, which are critical for both user experience and search engine rankings.

    6. Brand Recognition:

Establishing brand recognition takes time. Search engines tend to give preference to brands that are recognized and trusted by users.

    7. Search Engine Indexing:

It takes time for search engines to crawl, index, and rank new website pages. This process can be slower for new sites as search engines are initially unaware of the site's existence.

    8. Customer Reviews and Trust Signals:

New e-commerce sites lack customer reviews and other trust signals that can boost SEO and conversion rates. Building a base of positive reviews requires satisfied customers and time.

    9. Keyword Competition:

Ranking for competitive keywords can be challenging for new sites without established SEO strategies and content.

    10. Learning Curve:

For new site owners, there's often a learning curve in understanding SEO best practices and how to implement them effectively.

Despite these challenges, a strategic approach to SEO can yield positive results over time. Focusing on niche markets, long-tail keywords, high-quality content, and a great user experience can help new e-commerce sites gain traction in search engine rankings. It's also essential to invest in a solid SEO foundation from the start, which can accelerate growth and improve long-term outcomes.
